“Chosen” was born out of a shared passion between two people from very different backgrounds, yet united by one vision: to see believers rise into their true identity in Christ.

Mateo began his journey in the world of business logistics, but it was never the spreadsheets or schedules that truly captured his heart — it was the call of missions. From Peru to Chile, Italy to Spain, and France to Australia, he carried the light of Christ into diverse cultures, equipping believers wherever he went. Even while balancing work in professional fields, he never let go of the ministry that fulfilled him most: sharing the gospel and empowering others to walk in God’s calling.

Nina’s path took a different shape. With a background in ancient world culture, religion, and art history from the University of Melbourne, she worked as a freelance art curator and artist. Yet, her deepest calling unfolded through missions. For six years she has poured into the lives of people in Melbourne, and for the past four years, her work has extended into Lebanon and Egypt. A turning point came after the Beirut explosion, when she witnessed firsthand how faith brings hope in the darkest moments. From that time, she resolved to create spaces — especially for youth — to connect deeply with God.

In 2023, Mateo and Nina crossed paths in mission work. Quickly recognizing the same heartbeat in each other, they dreamed of something bigger: a platform where believers could be inspired, equipped, and encouraged to embrace who they are in Christ, live with purpose, and shine His light in the world. Out of this vision, “Chosen” was founded — not just a Bible study, but a community where identity meets calling, and where believers are reminded they are chosen for such a time as this.
